General Questions:

  1. Hemp vs Marijuana:

Hemp and marijuana are different types of the Cannabis plant. Marijuana is the cannabis plant that can get you high, whereas hemp does not. Hemp has less than 0.3% by dry weight of the psychoactive tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Hemp has a higher content of a potentially beneficial chemical cannabidiol (CBD). As of 2021, marijuana is considered as a Schedule I drug under federal law. 

  1. What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is an active component of the Cannabis plant. As hemp has a much higher content of CBD, it is usually extracted from hemp. Many reports suggest that CBD may support wellbeing. Recently, FDA has approved Epidiolex, a drug containing CBD, to treat seizures in children.

  1. Is CBD legal? 

The 2018 US Farm Bill made it legal to grow hemp, or cannabis containing less than 0.3 percent THC in the US, meaning hemp-derived CBD products containing less than 0.3% THC are federally legal. However, this does not apply to marijuana-derived CBD. 

The majority of the States also made CBD legal. Please check each State’s laws.

  1. CBD vs THC:

CBD is not psychoactive, unlike THC, meaning that CBD does not get you high. Legal CBD is typically extracted from hemp, whereas THC is extracted from marijuana. Hemp-derived CBD is federally legal in the US. Rather, there is much research on the therapeutic potentials of CBD. While THC is legal in some States, marijuana is considered as a Schedule I drug under federal law. 

Crown of Concordia only carries hemp-derived CBD products with 0% of THC. 

  1. Do the products contain any THC?

  1. Does hemp seed oil have CBD?

No. Hemp seed oil is produced by pressing only the hemp seeds to extract the oil which contains no CBD. 

CBD is extracted from the hemp flowers, leaves, and buds.

  1. What side effects will I have?

CBD is often well-tolerated in the body. CBD can cause side effects, such as dry mouth, diarrhea, reduced appetite, drowsiness and fatigue.
